What are heartworms? How can I protect my pet?Heartworms are parasites that dogs and cats can get from mosquitoes. The mosquito bites them, depositing larvae that migrate to the heart where they become adults. Despite fur, mosquitoes can still bite dogs and cats and transmit the disease. It is important to protect your pet with yearly heartworm testing and keep them on a monthly preventative at home.

Why does my dog from eat poop?It could just be a bad habit or your dog could also be doing it out of boredom. It is best to discourage the behavior because it can introduce parasites and bacteria to your dog.

Should I brush my pet's teeth?Poor pet dental hygiene can cause gum disease, which will make them more prone to heart and kidney disease. Regular brushing will keep tarter from coming back after a professional dental cleaning. If your bet does not do well with routine brushing, there are dental chews and special diets available that can help.

There are two different categories of vaccinations:
